포스터에서 작가는 동독에 대한 고정관념을 나타내고 싶지 않았다. 그보다 동서독 모두와 관련되어 강조할 수 있는 어떤 주제를 찾고 싶었다. 대부분의 독일인이 통일에 대한 통합된 이미지를 갖고 있고 젊은 세대들의 인식은 지식보단 감정에 의해 지배되기 때문에 교통신호는 분단된 독일의 이미지를 언급하는 동시에 사람들 마음 속에 여전히 차이가 존재하고 있음을 나타내고 있다. 포스터를 보면 더 많은 질문이 떠오른다. 어떤 경계를 우리가 건널 수 있을까? 어떤 경계선을 우리 스스로 그리고 있는가? 포스터를 보면서 그 답을 찾아 보는 건 어떨까? |

| In her poster the artist did not want to present any cliche about East Germany, as so often done, but rather tried to find a theme that addresses and is relevant for both East and West Germans. Since most of the Germans have a consolidated image of the reunification and especially the younger generation’s thoughts are dominated by affections more than by knowledge, the traffic sign refers to the image of an undivided Germany, while in the minds of people the gap still exists. Far more questions are arising out of the poster: Which borders are we able to cross? Which borderlines do we draw ourselves? Try to find some answers by looking at the poster. |
